The things that caught my eye in Reykjavik…

This amazing roundabout sculpture…
which looked like it was 3D or painted different shades of purple. To our astonishment, it was all one uniform colour and almost flat!!! Only a very slight angle to the surfaces reflected different amounts of light to give this incredible effect.

This nicely lettered sign… (although this chalk board stuff is getting a bit overdone)

This funny wall art…

This single glove speed dating service…

These folded and suspended books…

The shapes in the music hall…

This organic looking light…

This colour-grouped window display…

This cute wall doodle…

This cathedral which looks like a rocket…

This street stitching…

This exciting shop frontage…

This block-head man…

All this fur…

This nicely colour-coordinated outfit…

This lovely cat graphic on their basic range of cat product…

The Northern Lights…

These amazing yellow rubber boots by Ilse Jacobsen…

This view through the streets…

The moon looking really big…

Collaborative Advent Calendar 2014

Last year I didn't enjoy Christmas and didn't make the most of it. So this year I'm aiming to put a bit more joy into the world by curating an online advent calendar.
I've contacted all my creative friends and drawn up a list of 25 people to join in. Their brief was to create a treat which is digitally accessible. My task is to build a website to host all their treats and to update it every night during December.
With a bit of help more some web-savvy friends I've got the code sorted! Now I just need everyone to send me their treats by November so that I have time to make everyone's page ready for launch on 1st December!

In the mean time, here is the holding page image:

And you can check out the site here.

Paper cut family tree

After doing the wedding card a few weeks ago, a friend asked me to make her a papercut tree with her family's names.

Here's the design, ready to cut…

…5 hours later it's all cut out!…

…I mounted it in a floating frame…

Tree Wedding Card

A friend wanted a special wedding card for her friends. She was giving them a tree as a wedding present so I made this card…

…here is is ready to start cutting…

…5 hours later I finished cutting and removed the template…

…I tidied up the edges, it looked really nice on a glass table outside!…

…I made a window card mount for it…

…I liked the way the front of the card bowed forwards – this meant the cut cast shadows on the background rather than looking flat…

…finished!
