My friend Claire loves nature so I made her a birthday card with the theme of the great outdoors.

Father's Day 2015

This year my dad gets my 'Fab Dad' papercut card.

I also made some raw chocolate-fruit-nut balls. He loved them.

Running plan for RN2015

Doing my first ever race, Run Norwich 10k, I decided to make my own training plan.

I designed it to fit in my filofax, and fold in half so that I could still access my diary easily. It worked a treat!

Tracy & Rochelle's First Wedding Anniversary Paper Cut

I was asked to make a paper cut for a friend to celebrate their first wedding anniversary.

The colour scheme of their wedding was red and white. I was shown their amazing wedding cake for inspiration:   

I made a quick sketch with their specific words, dates and initials. They loved it straight away, and suggested to include more song lyrics. 

 

 I drew it up at full size and cut it out:

I mounted it on red with foam sticky tabs behind the cut so that it raised it from the backing slightly:

Wine bottle dressing

To make a crate of wine a more special and unique gift, I dressed each bottle with a neck theme and 'Drink me when…' lable. They had themes such as 'to celebrate', 'when it's sunny' and 'when in the mood'. 

Swimmer

I did a swimathon and raised money for Marie Curie. I made a paper cut swimmer to place on my collection pot at work.

Bottle gift

I have a friend who collects Isle of Wight memorabilia. I found an IOW sand bottle in a charity shop and dressed it up a bit, adding some charms and paper cut initials of her and her husband.   

ICAO Spelling Alphabet Project Return

After almost 5 years since I last opened the project, I'm reviving this idea.

A little further research brought up this lovely set:

This is an original 1956 two-page two-color print article about the airmen's alphabet for pilots that was developed by ICAO and illustrated through a series of cartoons by Artist Carl Rose.

Carl Rose (1903 – 1971) was an American cartoonist whose work appeared in The New Yorker,Popular Science, The Saturday Evening Post, and elsewhere.

I'm pleased I illustrated mine before I saw this so I wasn't too influenced. I'm also comforted to see they came to the same conclusion as I did about 'Mike' being represented by a 'mic'. 

Also, I notice this is American, because of the turkey in November. I've always had it in mind to try to keep mine as internationally recognisable as possible.
